  67. Note to ATM Users: Should you receive a UAE or GPF error in ATM using FontShow,
  68. it is suggested you upgrade Adobe Type Manager to version 2.02. This release
  69. appears to have corrected most problems with poorly converted Type 1 Fonts.

  99. When reporting problems, please be sure to include the FontShow version #,
  100. Windows version, basic hardware setup, and a description of what you were
  101. doing when the problem occurred. In addition, I need to know what font
  102. package you are using and the version. If the problems are in your printouts,
  103. please include a copy of the printout with the problem circled.  Any other
  104. information you might think helpful as well.
  105.

  108. Many of you have asked why I keep using Windows Modern font. Well that is
  109. because in the ATM environment,  ATM substitutes Helvetica for Modern when
  110. there is a Modern=Helvetica entry in the ATM.INI file (under the [Synonyms]
  111. section. ATM typically adds this entry, I believe if the Modern font is
  112. installed in Windows, when you install ATM. Rather than pick Helvetica,
  113. which some users do not install, I use Modern, which comes with Windows by
  114. default.
  115.  
  116. For those users out there who have removed Modern,  ensure there is a
  117. Modern=Helvetica entry in the ATM.INI file.  OR, alter the Default and
  118. Title Header fonts to another font. (These can be changed by running FontShow
  119. in setup mode (described below) or by editing the FONTSHOW.INI file and
  120. changing the ID_FONT=Modern and M_Font=Modern entries to a more appropriate
  121. font.  For earlier users of Fontshow,  save settings must be executed to
  122. create those entries, or use a text editor such as Notepad to add them)
  123.  
  124. Major performance recommendation for FontShow (and most other Windows apps).
  125. DISABLE the Windows Print Manager. It does very little for you but slow your
  126. printing to a crawl. You may also run into difficulties with batch printing.
  127.  
  128. NOTE: this is NOT true for Windows 3.1, where the Print Manager has been
  129. dramatically improved. However, VB applications will still lock out Windows
  130. during printing. It is not, therefore, advisable, to use FontShow while any
  131. other application is running in the background (such as a file transfer).
  132.  
  133. Additional Performance notes:
  134.  
  135. Adobe Type Manager users, set your Font Cache to a minumum of 384K (set from
  136. the ATM control panel).  Some systems will print blank lines in the font
  137. catalog unless the cache is large enough.
  138.  
  139. Laser Printer Memory: For printing at 300 DPI resolution, most laser printers
  140. will require a minimum of 1 Megabyte of memory to print most sample pages,
  141. because of their complex nature.

  150. Version 5.0 Changes:
  151. --------------------
  152.  
  153. Note: Printer Setup on Edit screen is grayed out. This function is
  154. NOT currently implemented. However it will be implemented as soon
  155. as some problems are resolved with a software package I use to
  156. provide that function.
  157.  
  158. 1.      New toolbar on the main screen, to control most common functions.
  159.  
  160. 2.      Full Windows Help file included.
  161.  
  162. 3.      ANSI Map printout tidied up, and the use of the Dingbat settings
  163.         in the INI file removed. You may delete all the FC_Dingx lines
  164.         (for users of the older versions only)
  165.  
  166. 4.      Catalog allows picking and choosing fonts from the list using
  167.         standard Windows actions. (See Help)
  168.  
  169. 5.      Batch Sample pages will honour the sample style selections

  182.         of the settings are only displayed when an individual setting is
  183.         selected. However you may cause FontShow to display all details
  184.         by adding Set_Detail=1 to the [FontShow] section of the
  185.         FONTSHOW.INI file.

  187. 10.     You can control the fillstyle of the circle on the sample pages,
  188.         including no fill(fill style=1 on the settings screen). This
  189.         gets around the Truetype problem with the black circle. You can
  190.         also control the thickness of the Circle's line. Note: The
  191.         Truetype support included in Windows 3.1 has one problem.
  192.  
  193.         Unless the "Print Truetype as graphic" Windows Option is set, the
  194.         Show circle FillStyle default of 0 (Solid), causes ONLY a black
  195.         circle to print. The option of Circle fillstyle has been added to
  196.         circumvent this, without impacting print speed (which the Print
  197.         as graphic option would do). In addition, when a non-solid fill
  198.         style is selected, you can control the thickness of the circle's
  199.         "border"
  200.  
  201. 11.     Click the right mouse button on the controls (on main screen only
  202.         so far) and you get a quick "what does this control do?" message.
  203.  
  204. 12.     Language overrides on the printouts for all the Fixed text areas
  205.         (Font Catalog/ANSI Character map/Page/Time etc.) for non-English
  206.         users. These setting are not implemented in the settings screen,
  207.         they are in the INI file only. See Supplied INI file for default
  208.         settings.
  209.  
  210. 13.     Comment line added to Text Sample. Will read from the (new)
  211.         comments section of the INI file like this:
  212.         [Comments]
  213.                 Arial=This is a comment for the Font ARIAL.
  214.                 Times=This font has no punctuation...
  215.  
  216.         This will print in the sample text, when a [Comment= control
  217.         statement is placed in column one. Again this was requested by
  218.         a non-english user, who needs to comment on whether some fonts
  219.         have the special characters they use.
  220.  
  221. 14.     The font selection boxes can be made bold by a new INI setting
  222.         SelectBold=1 (in the [FontShow] section).
  223.  
  224. 15.     Major screen redesign to make them "prettier", especially at
  225.         1024x768. Super VGA or higher is recommended, as the screens
  226.         are a little cramped at 640x480.
  227.  
  228. 16.     Set Colors changed to use the new Windows 3.1 common dialog.
  229.         For Windows 3.0 users, see the COMMDLG.ZIP file included.
  230.  
  231. 17.     Caps only option on main screen(user text). Useful for CAPS
  232.         only fonts.
  233.  
  234. 18.     Save BITMAP sample added to File menu. Will save a small bitmap
  235.         sample of the selected font. Useful for fonts you want to archive.
  236.         You can copy the bitmap along with the font, so you can look at
  237.         what it looks like a year later without having to fish out old
  238.         printouts.
  239.  
  240. 19.     You can now edit FONTSHOW.INI and FONTSHOW.TXS from the main
  241.         screen, using notepad (or other editor, set from the settings
  242.         screen)
  243.  
  244. 20.     You can copy to the clipboard from the ANSI map.Also Bold/Italic/
  245.         Underscore/Strikethrough styles are available, to see if the
  246.         characters are present in all styles. ANSI Map also displays
  247.         a large sample of the selected character in the upper right
  248.         section of the screen.
  249.  
  250. 21.     New Keyboard Map printout. Will print a keyboard map with
  251.         all the characters on a typical enhanced keyboard. In
  252.         addition it prints an ANSI map of the extended character
  253.         set.
  254.  
  255. 22.     The Main screen position will be saved when the settings are
  256.         saved. Useful for users of Norton Desktop.
  257.  
  258. 23.     The Character map on the Metrics screen will now only display
  259.         when requested. Will save a bit 'o time on the metrics display.

  261. =========================================================================
  262. Version 4.3 Changes:
  263. --------------------
  264.  
  265. 1) Bug fix: Under some circumstances the "Dingbat Font" settings were not
  266.    being saved. This has been corrected.
  267.  
  268. 2) A new setup feature: When 4.3 is run for the first time, FontShow will
  269.    prompt for the title and header font setting and the default font
  270.    setting.  This is to hopefully prevent the Invalid property value
  271.    message some users who have removed Windows fonts have been receiving.
  272.  
  273.    If you wish to re-run in setup mode,  activate the "Scroll-Lock" key
  274.    before starting FontShow.  For those users without an enhanced keyboard,
  275.    delete the FS_First=0 line from the FontShow.INI.
  276.  
  277.    I hope this clears up the problems some users have had. If not, ensure
  278.    the Windows MODERN font is installed, and for ATM users,  ensure there
  279.    is a MODERN=someotherfont setting in the [Synonyms] section, so that ATM
  280.    will substitute something better that the stick lines that Modern provides.
  281.  
  282. 3) New function on the Sample Page screen, DISPLAY ANSI MAP. Click on that
  283.    button and a grid of all the characters in the font will be displayed.
  284.    If you want to know the ANSI code of a particular character, simply
  285.    click on that character. Note: there is an intermittent bug in the grid
  286.    display that causes it to select a block of characters when you click
  287.    for the first time. If that happens, just click the character again.
  288.  
  289. 4) There has been a major rewrite of the code, with increasing speed and
  290.    reduced memory utilization in mind. (25% faster startup on my system)
  291.    However the memory use reduction is not without its price.  The
  292.    screen-to-screen transitions on some of the less frequently used
  293.    screens (such as setup) will be slower. This is because they now are
  294.    loaded as needed, rather than being kept in memory and hidden when not
  295.    displayed. The main exe file is about 25K larger than the 42a version
  296.    due to these code changes. Part of the memory change applys a limit of
  297.    460 fonts (the current ATM 1.1 limit) If this is a problem, please let
  298.    me know and I will increase it.
  299.  
  300. 5) The main screen has been re-organized again with some less frequently
  301.    used functions moved to the menu bar. In addition there is a RUN option
  302.    on the menu bar, from which you can run the ATM and Windows control
  303.    panels.  If someone can forward me the information on Facelift and
  304.    SuperPrint, I will add those functions as well (I need the exe name and
  305.    parameters (if any).
  306.  
  307. 6) The setup screen now has positions for 10 "dingbat" type fonts (used
  308.    in the Print ANSI map function)
  309.  
  310. 7) In the font catalog, the select all and clear functions are much
  311.    faster, as well as select all clears the list before it adds all the
  312.    fonts to eliminate duplicates. As well, the de-select function leaves
  313.    the first font selected, to enable easier deletion of unwanted fonts.
  314.  
  315. 8) Most of the screens have been re-designed with a 3-D look wherever
  316.    possible. (This will be enhanced in future versions).
  317.  
  318. 9) Newly added error correction will now revert to the default font
  319.    whenever a selected font cannot be displayed. In addition, the font
  320.    combo box will have no font selected at startup.  The main window will
  321.    display the default font. To change the default, use the settings
  322.    screen.  The default font and size are set there, rather than from the
  323.    main screen when save settings is executed.
  324.  
  325. 10) In the text sample file, a negative extra spacing value can now be
  326.     specified, allowing from -25 to 25 to be specified. Note that anything
  327.     more than -3 or 4 will not print very well, however if you want to
  328.     over print it might be useful.
  329.  
  330. 11) Other miscellaneous changes and adjustments.
  331.  
  332. Version 4.2a Changes(maintenance release):
  333. ------------------------------------------
  334.  
  335. 1) Bug Fix: Users of ATM who had Helvetica as one of the last few font entries
  336.    in their ATM.INI would receive an "Invalid Property Value" message, and
  337.    FontShow would terminate. This has been corrected.
  338.  
  339. 2) The Font Selected on the main screen, will become the default font when the
  340.    save settings function is invoked.  FontShow will bring up the default font
  341.    (if it is still available) whenever FontShow is started or whenever the font
  342.    list is rebuilt.
  343.  
  344. 3) The maximum user text saved has been increased from 63 to 127 characters.
  345.  
  346.  
  347. Version 4.2 Changes:
  348. --------------------
  349.  
  350. 1) Print Function from the main screen has been enhanced to allow printing
  351.    to the screen. Use the control menu to select the destination. Use
  352.    Control - Clear Print Window to clear the screen. This function is
  353.    intended to be used as a means of comparing fonts on the screen. Note
  354.    that the print to screen function can only be so large, if it is larger
  355.    than Windows will allow, a message will be displayed. Try reducing the
  356.    point size.
  357.  
  358. 2) Right Margin Offset setting has been changed to allow 100ths of inches
  359.    (ie. 0.25").
  360.  
  361. 3) The pop up window for batch sample pages has been eliminated,  the
  362.    style selection is now made directly from the Catalog screen.
  363.  
  364. 4) A bug has been reported in Publisher's PowerPak, that causes FontShow
  365.    to pick up each PowerPak font 6 times.  Code has been added to
  366.    eliminate duplicate fonts, provided the duplicates are returned by
  367.    Windows one right after another. The "nnn of xxx" display on the
  368.    startup screen will decrement the "xxx" number for each duplicate
  369.    found.  This is a PowerPak bug.
  370.  
  371. 5) When Publisher's Powerpak is used, it does not permit the use of the
  372.    Show Character Circle,  the text prints in black in a black circle.
  373.    Another PowerPak restriction is the point size. Anything printed over
  374.    350 points will convert to Windows' SCRIPT font. Displaying the
  375.    character will result in the bottom portion of the character to be
  376.    truncated. (These problems will be reported to Atech, currently there
  377.    is no workaround)
  378.  
  379. Version 4.1 Changes:
  380. --------------------
  381.  
  382. 1) User Text and Point size for the main window will now be saved when Save
  383.    Settings is executed.
  384.  
  385. 2) Text Color and Save Settings are now on the Control pull down menu
  386.  
  387. 3) New Option: Minimize on Print. If this option is selected on the settings
  388.    screen, FontShow will minimize whenever print is selected.  When printing
  389.    is complete, the FontShow ICON will flash once per second.
  390.  
  391. 4) New function "ATM Font Check", if enabled (from the Control menu) will check
  392.    the ATM.INI file for the existence of true Normal, Bold, Italic, and
  393.    BoldItalic styles. A new frame will be displayed if this option is enabled
  394.    and will show a "green light" if the style is available, and red if not.
  395.    Note this involves reading the ATM.INI file every time, so it does add a
  396.    small amount of overhead.
  397.  
  398. 5) Bug Fix: Paste Link is no longer enabled when FontShow is the application
  399.    on the clipboard. An "Edit-Copy" followed by "Edit-PasteLink" would fail.
  400.    (because Fontshow can't talk to itself)  After the failure, FontShow would
  401.    terminate. This has been corrected.
  402.  
  403. 6) Print Function added to the main screen.  Clicking on print will send the
  404.    current text, font, size and bold/italic etc. attributes to the printer.
  405.    Click again, same thing will happen (and if you've changed anything, it will
  406.    pick up the new attributes) Don't expect it to word wrap, 'cause it won't.
  407.    If you want to print wide text,  try landscape mode if your printer supports
  408.    it. Each click of print will print on a new line, click close print to send
  409.    the text to the printer.  If you print more than a page, a page eject will
  410.    occur automatically. Click close print to send remaining text to the
  411.    printer.
  412.  
  413. 7) Several boxes and displays have changed.  The point size and character
  414.    selected on the main screen now display as part of the frame caption rather
  415.    than taking up valuable space on the screen. (It's getting cramped!)
  416.  
  417. 8) New settings options: Top border Width, Vertical Line Width, Horizontal line
  418.    Width. These settings allow you to control the thickness in dots, of the
  419.    sample page lines. In addition, they can be suppressed altogether by
  420.    entering zero as the width.
  421.  
  422. 9) New setting: Right Margin Offset allows an amount (in inches) which FontShow
  423.    will add to the right margin (for lines and the show character only).
  424.    (IE: Enter 0.3 and FontShow will add .3" to the right margin) This option
  425.    has been requested by some users. Normally FontShow uses the margins as
  426.    supplied by Windows, however this does not seem to be adequate for some
  427.    printer drivers.
  428.  
  429. 10) Other minor adjustments, and standardization of screens. Control menu
  430.     expanded,  save function moved from the settings screen to the control menu
  431.     as well as Set Colors.
  432.  
  433. Version 4.0 Changes:
  434. --------------------
  435. 1) Full windows clipboard support, including Paste Link.
  436.  
  437. 2) New opening screen
  438.  
  439. 3) Additional font catalog style, will print the font using the fontname
  440.    as the text,  printing as many on the page as will fit.
  441.  
  442. 4) Sample page display will now pop up a "More" button in the bottom left
  443.    corner of the screen if the sample is more than a screen's worth long. Click
  444.    the more button to display the rest of the sample.
  445.  
  446. 5) Page numbers and Time/date removed from ANSI maps. Since the map doesn't
  447.    change for a given font, the date/time info was extraneous. As well the
  448.    page number is not really required since the map is usually only one page
  449.    long.
  450.  
  451. 6) Print margins adjusted slightly shorter, for those users of dot-matrix
  452.    printers.
  453.  
  454. 7) Text display colors can now be saved from the settings screen.
  455.  
  456. 8) Main text display window can have the alignment altered from the default of
  457.    centered. Options are Left, Center and right.
  458.  
  459. 9) Additional information is displayed on the font metrics screen, as well as
  460.    a diagram of what some of the numbers mean is displayed.
  461.  
  462. 10) The startup screen may now be minimized during initialization, to allow
  463.     background startup.
  464.  
  465. 11) Some less frequently used functions have been moved to a menu bar on the
  466.     main screen.
  467.  
  468. 12) Full DDE support for Excel 3.0 and Word for Windows. The application must
  469.     already be started,  click on "Start Link", select the application desired.
  470.     After the link is initialized, when you click "Send" the text displayed in
  471.     the main window along with it's font, size, bold/italic etc. will be sent
  472.     to the application for which the link is active.  Please note that for
  473.     Winword, the cursor must be in the text area, and for Excel, it must be
  474.     in a cell.  If this is not the case, the application will reject the
  475.     request, and FontShow will display an error message.
  476.  
  477. 13) The default character on the main window and the show character selected in
  478.     the settings screen are now the same.
  479.  
  480. 14) Miscellaneous fine tuning and screen layout changes. A new ICON is included
  481.     if you update the item's property on the Program manager window you should
  482.     see the new one.  I still don't like it,  any artistically inclined
  483.     volunteers out there?
  484.  
  485. 15) Bug correction: The font sample pages printed from the catalog function
  486.     will now print the titles correctly.
  487.  
  488.  
  489. Version 3.1 Changes:
  490. --------------------
  491.  
  492. 1) The "show" character printing in a black circle has been made an option. See
  493.    the settings screen. Should save on ribbons, toner and/or Ink.
  494.  
  495. 2) Bug correction: The font inventory would print in the title font and size if
  496.    page numbers, date AND time printing were turned off.
  497.  
  498. 3) Bug correction: The settings for Page numbers, date and time printing were
  499.    not being saved correctly.
  500.  
  501.  
  502. Version 3.0 Changes:
  503. --------------------
  504.  
  505. 1) A new sample style has been added (#5) that will print a variety of text
  506.    sizes and styles.
  507.  
  508. 2) The Text sample function has been implemented for all styles.  If the
  509.    "Print Text Sample" option is selected on the settings screen, FontShow will
  510.    open and read the filename that is entered in the "Text Sample Filename" box.
  511.  
  512.    Please see the supplied file "FONTSHOW.TXS". Included in this file are
  513.    instructions on how to alter the text that is displayed/printed from this
  514.    file. There is a primitive "word-processing" function included, allowing you
  515.    to alter the size, style, indentation, font, and letter spacing of the sample
  516.    text, as well as allowing you to customize the text that is printed.
  517.  
  518. 3) The option to override the sample characters printed in the font catalog is
  519.    provided on the settings screen.
  520.  
  521. 4) The font metrics screen has been updated to reflect the user selected text
  522.    colors,  and the print overlay bug on that screen has been corrected.
  523.  
  524. 5) The ANSI map function has been changed to use the selected font for printing
  525.    all output, rather than the title font. This speeds up printing dramatically.
  526.    This function is overridden for any font known as a dingbat or symbol font.
  527.    On the settings screen, there are 6 fields for "Dingbat" fonts.  If the font
  528.    selected for the ANSI map matches any of the characters in any of the Dingbat
  529.    fields, that ANSI map will alternate from the title font to the selected font
  530.    in the output.  An example:
  531.  
  532.      1- If the selected font is Helvetica, the entire map will be printed in
  533.         Helvetica, because it does not contain Dingbat, Symbol, Carta etc.
  534.         anywhere in the fontname.

  536.      2- If the selected font is BillsDingbats, the map will be printed with
  537.         the title font for the ANSI codes and the sample character, and
  538.         will print the sample character in BillsDingbats. This is because the
  539.         fontname contains the characters string DINGBAT. (Got it?)

  541. 6) Several users have requested that the sample page and ANSI map functions be
  542.    added to the font catalog function. This has been implemented. From the font
  543.    catalog there are now 4 functions that will be performed on the selected fonts:
  544.  
  545.         1) Print font inventory
  546.         2) Print font catalog
  547.         3) Print font samples
  548.         4) Print ANSI maps
  549.  
  550.    In option 3 you have the option of printing ANSI maps as well for all the
  551.    selected fonts in one pass through the list. FontShow will estimate the time
  552.    required (based on a 386-20) and give you the option to cancel the operation.
  553.  
  554. 7) Titles and margins for printed and displayed output have been standardized
  555.    to allow for three-hold punching etc.
  556.  
  557. 8) The show character on the font samples now prints in white inside a solid
  558.    black circle. This was done just for "style". This will be optional in future
  559.    releases. This does, however, give you an idea of a font's character
  560.    alignment and such, some fonts will print in slightly higher or lower
  561.    position in the circle, which is scaled to the font's average height or width
  562.    depending on which is greater. One exception is the CARTA font. The height
  563.    of the Carta font is so large that it prints a circle over 4 inches in
  564.    diameter. For this reason the circle is scaled back to the actual character
  565.    size for the Carta font only. If this is required for any other unusual font,
  566.    let me know.

  568. 9) Printing of the show character can be suppressed by setting its size on the
  569.    settings screen to 0
  570.  
  571. 10) The print buttons have been altered to a 3D picture of a printer, and the
  572.     display buttons have been altered to a 3D picture of a screen.
  573.  
  574. 11) Other minor visual changes. The startup screen now shows a stop sign, if you
  575.     want to stop, click on the stop sign. ALT-S still performs that function.
  576.     The color scheme has been standardized.

  579. Version 2.1 Changes:

  582. 1) A new control has been added to the main menu,  "Settings" This will allow
  583.    the user to control the font and size for titles, and the character used on
  584.    the sample page as the "Show" character.  I call the large "A" in the upper
  585.    right corner the "Show" character, for lack of a better name. If any of you
  586.    think of a better name, let me know! For best print performance, pick a font
  587.    that is resident in your printer for titles. (And be sure ATM uses them by
  588.    clicking on the Use Resident or bitmap fonts option on the ATM control panel)
  589.  
  590.    In addition,  control is provided over which font sizes are printed on the
  591.    sample page. There is also a check box for "Text Sample" This is not yet
  592.    implemented.  It will, in a future release, print a sample of text printed
  593.    with the selected font (a paragraph of text, including bold, italic,
  594.    BoldItalic and underline.
  595.  
  596.    The settings information is stored in file FontShow.INI which must be located
  597.    in the Windows directory. You can update this file directly, however be
  598.    careful as there is little validation code implemented yet and you may cause
  599.    FontShow to crash!
  600.  
  601. 2) Control is provided, also from the "Settings" screen, to adjust the screen
  602.    colors. This version does not allow you to save the colors, just to change
  603.    them. I have, however, toned down the colors a bit.
  604.    (Stay tuned for the next version)
  605.  
  606. 3) The sample page screen has been altered quite a bit, it now prints directly
  607.    to the window, rather than a text box. This displays a little quicker and
  608.    also will display more text when maximized, rather than having to re-display
  609.    the sample.  In addition,  there is a new button "Display".  Font sample 1 is
  610.    selected as default, and in order to display the sample on screen, click on
  611.    "Display". Print continues to operate as before.
  612.  
  613.    In addition,  the frame that holds the controls "hides" when a screen
  614.    display is requested.  To bring it back, just click anywhere on the Sample
  615.    window. You can re-hide it again if you want by clicking on the "Hide" Button.
  616.    The title size is now adjusted from the settings screen,  and the text of the
  617.    title can be updated by clicking the "set title" button
  618.  
  619. 4) FontShow now requests printer fonts instead of screen fonts.  FontShow can
  620.    not display some printer resident fonts.  If you request display of a
  621.    resident font you will receive a display error message.  The font can still
  622.    be printed and inventoried,  you just can't display it on screen. That is a
  623.    Windows and/or font manager restriction unfortunately. Future releases will
  624.    allow user control over which fonts to retrieve.  With font managers such as
  625.    ATM or Facelift, the list is virtually identical.
  626.  
  627. 5) A primitive print cancel function has been added to the font catalog.
  628.    When a print is started,  a cancel checkbox is visible in the status window.
  629.    Click on that and FontShow will not generate any more output. However any
  630.    output that has been sent to Windows must still be printed.  I'm working on
  631.    this one, but the Windows API calls in this area are trickier than I first
  632.    thought.  Bear with me on this one.

  634. 6) An other button has been added on the main window. "Display font metrics"
  635.    click this button and FontShow will pop up a window displaying the metrics of
  636.    the selected font. Information displayed includes, Average Width, Maximum
  637.    Width, Character height, Internal Leading and so on.  Not all the fields are
  638.    fully implemented as documentation is sparse on that function, but it will
  639.    improve in future releases.

  641. 7) Other miscellaneous bug and glitch fixes and "visual" adjustments.

  643. Bug Fixes:

  645. Many users reported an error message when printing "Invalid Property Value"
  646. was caused by my (incorrect) assumption that all users would have a font
  647. "Helvetica". This has been corrected,  should the error occur FontShow will
  648. substitute the Windows font "Modern". However an even better solution is to
  649. update the Settings window with the preferred font which is used for titles
  650. and headers in all printed output.
